Agriculture at the Fair

Kids & Critters

With continued urbanization of our population, it becomes increasingly more important to demonstrate the interdependence of urban populations with agriculture. Kids & Critters is intended to utilize children’s natural curiosity about animals and direct it to a meaningful understanding of how animals in agriculture are intrinsically related to them, not only as food sources, but also as resources in technological and medical fields. In addition to knowledge about agriculture and the industry, the field trip reinforces the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills assessment for 2nd and 3rd grade science and social studies.
