What are the deadlines for entries?
Youth entry deadline is August 25th. Pan-American entry deadline is September 1st.

Can I enter Livestock entries after the deadline?
Yes, but late fees will be assessed. Please read the next question.

What is the difference between a late entry and an incomplete entry?
LATE ENTRIES: Entries not received online by midnight, August 25, 2008 are considered late entries. Late entries postmarked prior to September 1, 2008 will be accepted and assessed a late fee of $100.00 per entry. Late entries postmarked between September 2 and the check in deadline will be accepted and accessed a late fee of $250 per entry. Open show entries postmarked after September 2 but by September 15 will be accepted at TWO times the entry fee.

INCOMPLETE ENTRIES: are defined as entries made online by midnight, August 25, 2008 for youth show entries and September 1, 2008 for open show entries that are missing signatures, social security numbers, etc. Those entries will not be assessed the late fee. However, all information must be received by the livestock prior to show time. Otherwise, prizes and premium money may be withheld.

Do I have to enter the Show online?
All youth entries must be submitted online by the AST/CEA. Signature forms must also be mailed to PO Box 150009, Dallas, TX 75315. Pan-American exhibitors may enter online or by mailing in the entry forms.

What is the ownership deadline for Youth Livestock entries?
All animals must be in the name of the exhibitor and continuously cared for by the exhibitor by June 30th.

Do the Market Animals need to be State Validated?
Yes. Visit www.texasffa.org for information on barrow validation. Contact Kyle Smith at (979) 845-7894 for information on steer validation. Contact Dr. Frank Craddock at (325) 653-4576 for information on lamb and goat validation.

When do I get my stall assignments? Can I ask to be stalled in a certain area?
Stall assignments will be available when you arrive on the Fairgrounds. Stall requests need to be mailed to the State Fair of Texas. We may not be able to grant all requests.

Do I need to have health papers on my animals?
Yes, all animals entering the Fairgrounds are required to have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. Refer to the TAHC Requirements section of the 2008 Online Premium List.

Can I bring my animals in earlier than the specified arrival time?
In some cases, we may allow early arrival. Please contact the Livestock Office at (214) 421-8723.

Can I bring my own feed and shavings?
Feed and additional bedding can be purchased at the Feed Office located between Cattle Barn I and the Livestock Judging Pavilion and delivered to the exhibitor's stall. Exhibitor's are allowed to bring enough feed and bedding to accommodate their own animals. NO large quantities of feed, bedding or hay will be allowed on the Fairgrounds. Exhibitors will be allowed to bring the feed on grounds in limited amounts on a daily basis. No large bales of bedding straws will be allowed.

Can I buy additional parking and admission passes once I get to the Show?
Yes, additional passes may be purchased at the Livestock Office. Please note that prices of passes purchased after September 1st will increase. Click here for pricing.

Can I get an early release so we can leave after the Show?
Early release is not allowed. Animals exhibited need to be available for our visitors to view, therefore we have set times for release.
