The officers and horses in the Dallas Police Department Mounted Unit operate daily patrols in communities, parks and in downtown Dallas; they can also be seen at many special events. Each officer is assigned to a specific horse for which they provide care and continual training. Housed in the Pan American barn year around, special arrangements can be made for your group to tour the facility by calling 214-670-0340.

Due to the daily routines involved with the care and upkeep of the horses, fair time barn visitation opening times may vary, but officers and horses will be accessible most days in the mid-afternoon and early evening hours to meet and greet fairgoers and to answer your questions. Equine demonstrations will also be provided on Thursdays at 3:00 P.M. in the Ranch Arena.
